The NBA preseason has begun, and it has been nothing but exciting! With rookie debuts of Lamelo Ball, Cole Antony, Anthony Edwards, and James Wiseman. Ball has been arguably the most exciting rookie so far, with dazzling passes and three point shooting. Against the Magic, Lamelo had 18 points, 5 assists, and 4 threes. Cole Anthony also had an impressive performance against the Hornets, with 19 points and 4 assists. Edwards had 17 points in his debut against the Mavericks. This preseason has shown us how stars on new-look teams have been looking. John Wall and Demarcus Cousins have been impressive with the Rockets. In his first preseason game against the Bulls, John Wall made lots of highlight plays, and overall had 21 points. Cousins also had an impressive performance with 14 points and 2 blocks. Russell Westbrook has been very impressive with the Wizards so far, leading his new teammates, and reuniting with his old coach Scott Brooks. Filling up the stat sheet with 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. All these stars are still getting used to their new teams, with a short training camp and only two preseason games, but still look good.

Looking Ahead

The preseason wrapped up Saturday night, and the regular season will begin Tuesday night. The season starts off with a double-header with Kevin Durant facing off his former team, the Stephen Curry led Golden State Warriors. This will be the first regular-season game Kevin Durant will be playing with the Nets, who have a new head coach Steve Nash. Next, the Clippers will face off with crosstown rival Los Angeles Lakers. After an upsetting bubble performance, the Clippers look to bounce back, under new head coach Tyronn Lue. The Clippers surprisingly lost Montrezl Harrell to the Lakers, which makes this game even more interesting. The Lakers are also filled with new faces like Wesley Matthews, Dennis Schroder, and Marc Gasol. Overall, this season will be one of the most interesting ones, seeing the NBA response to COVID, and how effects the games will definitely be one thing to look for.
