The NBA preseason kicked off on Friday, after a two-month offseason. In these two days of basketball, we saw the return of John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, and Stephen Curry. We also got to see exciting rookie debuts like Lamelo Ball, Obi Toppin, and Anthony Edwards. The preseason kicked off with the Hawks vs the Magic. It was an exciting matchup, with the Magic winning 116 to 112. Nikola Vucevic led the Magic with 18 points and 11 rebounds. The Knicks faced off against the Detroit Pistons. Young Players like Obi Toppin and RJ Barret led the way and played amazing defense. Under new coach Tom Thibodeau, the Knicks look to revamp their hold team, after decades of struggling. Knicks were able to pull off a victory, 90-84. One of the most exciting games of the preseason so far was the Pistons vs the Rockets. John Wall and Demarcus Cousins reunite as teammates and wait on James Harden to join them. Wall led the team with 13 points and 9 assists. Cousins had 14 points and 5 rebounds. The NBA preseason will last another week, and on the 22nd the regular season will start.
Looking to the Regular Season
This NBA season is looking like it will be one of the most exciting ones, with many players suiting up for new teams. With Kevin Durant playing against his former team, and the LA rivalry looking to revamp. Russell Westbrook on the Wizards, Kevin Durant on the Nets, John Wall on the Rockets, With the Warriors slated to play the Nets, and the Clippers facing off the Warriors. The NBA will also look to avoid any COVID-19 problems, after being so successful in the bubble. Within the first week of training camp, the NBA had over 48 positive tests. The NBA has recently implemented new guidelines to prevent the spread of covid-19.
