Last night we tweeted about changes coming to the website this morning and promised an in-depth explanation of those changes. This article should serve as that explanation. If you have any questions please ask them below in the comments section so that we can post a response that anyone with the same question is sure to see. Simple Slates is excited to announce these changes as we feel that not only do they benefit our business, but they are all focused on improving our customer’s experience on our website!

There are more changes coming as well, so some of the stuff you see advertised on the website now such as our DFS Training Course and Simple Slates Private Events will be implemented later this month. If you have a question about something you see that is not discussed in this article, we kindly ask that you hold that question until we have had the opportunity to make that feature live for our users and release additional details. Below you will find a section relating to each of the changes that we announced last night on Twitter and Facebook. If you are not following on Twitter, or have not liked our page on Facebook please take the time to do so now by clicking the appropriate icon on the header or footer of the website. This greatly helps us get information out to you, and gives you an additional channel to reach us should you need assistance with anything.

When this website was first created we were on a clock to get it up and running before the start of the NBA season. While the website was functional, it was a bit clunky, and was not as user friendly as we would have liked. Our goal is and always has been to keep things simple, and we probably could have done a better job of that with the design of the website.

Now that there has been some time to invest into achieving a more straight forward user friendly website, we decided to take advantage of that. Some of the focal points of the re-design were;

  • More visually appealing design.
  • Clear information regarding our service and setting customer expectations.
  • Less drop downs on the top menu. We realized they could be frustrating on mobile.
  • Improved loading speed of the website.

We also have changed our caching practices to hopefully assist with some of the login issues. These are caused by a combination of some browsers caching more aggressively than others and the caching feature that we were using previously being a bit of an over achiever. They will not be completed eliminated and you may still occasionally have to clear your browser cache if an issue presents, but they should be reduced drastically. Hopefully one day in the future we will be doing well enough with this website to pay up for dedicated servers and will not need to use a caching feature at all.

Please comment below with any questions or feedback you have regarding the new layout.

We have now added VIP Access Passes. These passes were added with the customers that use our service for multiple sports in mind. These passes will give you access to every single slate, from every single active sport on the website during the time you have paid for access.

There has also been a VIP Day Pass option added in the Store. This pass is an option for those that wish to play two sport’s slates on the same day as it is a savings of $5 over buying the passes individually. The goal here with all of the added VIP Passes was to give the customer more flexible pass options and offer a savings for bundling two or more sports together.

Please feel free to ask any questions, or post any feedback, on the VIP Access Passes below in the comments section.

As stated earlier, when we originally made this site, it was done somewhat in a rush to get it up and running before the NBA season started. In doing so, we attempted to set the pricing on our offers based on what we felt was fair for the reliability of the information that we provide. We also wanted to give our users an incentive for committing to a longer period of access by reducing the weekly price when paid in one lump sum up front. It is not a secret that DFS is a numbers game. A longer period of access serves everyone involved by removing the chances of a customer only using our service on a bad night, and removes the chances of us not being able to deliver results for our customers.

Unfortunately we didn’t really work the Math correctly, and this resulted in our Annual Passes being an outstanding deal, while our Monthly and Weekly Passes created a significant barrier to entry for new customers that wanted to try the service prior to deciding to move to the Annual Passes. This change is meant to rectify that, and move the pricing so that each pass is in line with the other. Going forward all sports will have the same base pricing;

  • $24.95 Weekly Access (Approximate 50% reduction over current NBA pricing)
  • $19.95 per Week When Paid Monthly (Approximate 40% reduction over current NBA pricing)
  • $14.95 per Week When Paid Annually (Approximate 12% increase over current NBA pricing *total price varies by sport season length*)

As you can see, there has been a drastic shift in our pricing for Weekly and Monthly Access. Unfortunately that has also resulted in a slight increase in our Annual Access due to the need to keep the amounts relative to one another. We know that may cause some confusion for our current Annual Pass holders, but we want to make sure you understand, WE ARE NOT RAISING YOUR PRICE! You are welcome to keep your NBA Annual Access Pass as long as you want at the $400.00 price point. We will even be willing to credit the full amount of your NBA Annual Access pass towards an Annual VIP Pass if you would like to upgrade. Simply contact us on the Support Page to make those arrangements.

For everyone else, we will be manually cancelling all of your current passes at the end of the period you have already paid for. The reason for this is to make sure that no one simply doesn’t see the new pricing structure and has the chance to take advantage of significantly reduced pricing. For anyone that has paid for a pass renewal within the last billing period, if you would like to contact us on the Support Page we will make the arrangements to extend your access accordingly with the new structure. Here are the eligible time periods for this offer;

  • Weekly Passes re-billed 02-21-20 or later
  • Monthly Passes re-billed 02-01-20 or later

We understand that some of transition may be a bit confusing, but we promise that we will work with anyone that reaches out to ensure an easy transition to the new structure. Ultimately our goal here is to better our business and improve your experience simultaneously. Please ask any questions, or give any feedback you may have in the comments section below.

One of the most requested features to be added to the website is DraftKings support. You will now be able to view some of recommended plays from our player pool based on their salary cap within the DraftKings platform. This was a very simple change to add, and we sincerely apologize that we did not do this sooner. Somewhere along the lines we got a severe case of tunnel vision with FanDuel, and essentially ignored the number one DFS platform. That has now been rectified, and receiving these plays does not incur any additional charge to the customer. You will receive both FanDuel and DraftKings plays with the exact same Access Pass.

We do want to make one thing clear however. We are not sharing DraftKings lineups, which is against their terms of service. We are simply giving you our recommended plays from a player pool that we feel has upside on a particular slate. You are free at that point to take the advice we offer and use plays from our player pool to assist with the creation of your own lineup, or completely ignore any advice we have on DraftKings plays. The ball is 100% in your court to make your own decisions.

If you have any questions or feedback regarding the addition of Draft Kings content, please feel free to use the comment section below.

We really appreciate each and every customer we have, or have had, since we started this website back in October. Our number one priority is to offer value to you, and we will continue to listen to feedback and make changes when possible to improve the experience you have on our website.

There are many more changes coming this month as well, some of which are already mentioned on the new pages of that. Those things will be live as soon as possible and information regarding those additions will be coming shortly.

If you have any additional feedback or suggestions please feel free to post below in the comment section. We will review all of your comments. Thanks for using Simple Slates!
